Saving Images You Get in Email

Like most of us, you often get pictures from friends and family displayed in the body of your email, and not as a separate attachment.

But it is not always clear how to save the image if it is not attached as a separate file.

1. Place your cursor over the image in your email and right click. A menu box will appear.

2. Click on the option that says Save Picture As...

3. A "Save Picture" menu box will open. Look in the "Save in:" field at the top of the page. Browse to where you want to save your image.

In this same menu box, you may also want to chose a file name that you'll remember - just type what you want in the "File name:" field. Special note on animated GIFs - Make sure that the image ends in .gif. Some email programs change the .gif to .bmp which will not move. Simply rename it "whatever.gif".

4. Click on the Save button.

And that’s it. Go find your image and start a project now!
